Mishkeegogamang First Nation in Ontario is home to approximately 1,143 people on reserve. The community is repairing its water treatment plant with funding from Indigenous Services Canada.
There is 1 long-term drinking water advisory affecting 7 homes:
- a boil water advisory on the Erik Lake Public Water System was set in March 2025 and became long-term in March 2026
The advisory was put in place due to high turbidity (high level of organic particles) in the filtration system. The community has identified repairs that will begin once the required parts arrive.
The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation works with the community to support operations, including mentorship, training and supporting activities on-site.
