Project tracker

Projected lift date: TBD

Wabauskang First Nation in Ontario is home to approximately 142 people on reserve. The community has completed repairs to the water treatment system, with support from the Centralized Water and Wastewater Operations Hub delivered by the Bimose Tribal Council and funded by Indigenous Services Canada.

There is 1 long-term drinking water advisory affecting 45 homes and 3 community buildings:

  • A boil water advisory was set on the Wabauskang Public Water System in May 2025 and became long-term in May 2026

The advisory was issued due to issues with the disinfection system. New chlorination pumps have been installed and the community is currently working to improve operations and to complete water testing to support the lifting of the boil water advisory.
